What's your favorite heartbreak song?
Submitted by esta86.Not necessarily about heartbreak, but it breaks my heart everytime I hear it:
What song makes you rock the karaoke mic?
Submitted by Ann.
I love the SingStar karaoke game for the PS2, and generally pwn when I am singing Thank You by Dido. Now to figure a way to combine SignStar and Guitar Hero...
I've never actually sang Karaoke outside of this game, but imagine I would rock the karaoke mike with any Smiths song :)
What's on your Top 5 video games list?
Submitted by mileena.
My number one video game today, would probably be World of Warcraft - mostly because it has had an exclusivity on my gaming time for the past year. I am a level 50 Night Elf Rogue, which will sound totally dorky until you get sucked in by Warcraft's evil, addictive claws. I have seen many a fine person succum.
My number one video game of all time is Super Mario Bros 3. I spent a shocking much time playing this game as a kid (and indeed all the Mario games), and can still play it again and again.
Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo would come in third - so many fun summers playing this on multi-player mode! Its the epitome of an addictive game. These days, I think Guitar Hero probably comes close to matching it for a fun, sociable game.
Tetris remains one of the best video games ever made. Completely addictive, and never boring, you can pick it up any time and anywhere. I saw a really interesting documentary on Tetris a while back on BBC4.
An honorable mention goes to The New Zealand Story, which is not only super-cute in a serious Kiwi on a mission sort of way, but also wins the prize for having the most stressful "your time is running out" music.
Windows, Mac, Linux - What's your preference and why?
Submitted by ramblingsbymark.I converted to a Mac about six months ago and am a bit of a Mac evangelist now. If only Vox would get their bums in gear and make the compose page compatible with Safari! >_<
Anyway .... I am having so much fun learning the idiosyncrancies of my MacBook. Having never really used a Unix-based OS, it took a while to get used to, but its actually pretty intuitive. One thing I love is the software that is developed for OS X. Beside from being really pretty, there are some fun and innovative programs out there.
Note: I am still enthusiastic even though my MacBook got Random Shutdown Syndrome and was away for a week getting repaired ... :(
What are your weekend plans?
Last night we saw the Trailer Park Boys movie. This afternoon - nothing! I am going to sit and knit 'Clapotis' and watch some TV. Tonight, we are going get food, drink and then go to the Vancouver Giants hockey game. Tomorrow - who knows? Preferably not much. This weekend actually seeps into Monday, as its Thanksgiving here in Canada. I admit, had to look up what Thanksgiving in Canada is about :( Wikipedia tells me:
Thank you, Martin Frobisher, for a much needed day off work :) And that ends your history lesson for today! The history of Thanksgiving in Canada goes back to an English explorer, Martin Frobisher, who had been trying to find a northern passage to the Orient. He did not succeed but he did establish a settlement in Canada. In the year 1578, he held a formal ceremony, in what is now the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, to give thanks for surviving the long journey. This is considered the first Canadian Thanksgiving, and the first Thanksgiving to have taken place in North America. Other settlers arrived and continued these ceremonies. He was later knighted and had an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean in northern Canada named after him - Frobisher Bay.
What movie can you quote by heart?
Submitted by clamhead.
None. I probably have watched the original Star Wars movies more than any other, but still get quotes very, very wrong. "Are these the droids you are looking for?"

What's up?
I am so pleased to say that not much is up, i.e it is the weekend and I am not working O_O The hubby and I have been pulling some crazy hours recently, getting the new website up at work. Its so nice to have the weekend to ourselves.
Yesterday I slept for about 12 hours, and felt fuzzy most of the day. We only emerged from the house once - to get gelato and make a trip to the video store. We rented Silent Hill, which wasn't scary in itself, but made me feel icky and weird knowing that someone had to sit and come up with such disturbing beasties and scenarios. I never did play the video game.
This morning Ms.Kitten woke me up with loud wailing meows, demanding food and attention. Its 8:30am on a sunday morning, and really quiet outside. The rain seems to have decided to come back to Vancouver, after a much-too-long absence this summer. I love it - this is finally the rainy city I was promised when I moved here!
Today, I'm going to read more of the new Murakami book of short stories - Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman - and venture out to book our flights to Japan. The cost of this trip seriously scares me.
